WE ARE SO PROUD TO RECOGNIZE SEVERAL OF OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF MEMBERS EXCELLING AT THE STATE, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVELS. EACH RECOGNITION THAT WE'RE GOING TO GO THROUGH WILL BE DISPLAYED ON THE MONITORS.

FIRST, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SPEECH AND DEBATE TEAMS FROM PLANO WEST, PLANO EAST AND PLANO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS, ALL OF WHOM PLACED IN THE TOP 20 AT THE TEXAS FORENSIC ASSOCIATION STATE CHAMPION TOURNAMENT LAST MONTH.

THEY RANKED AS FOLLOWS PLANO WEST SENIOR HIGH, SECOND PLACE IN STATE.

PLANO EAST SENIOR HIGH 10TH PLACE IN STATE PLANO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 17TH PLACE IN STATE.

THE STATEWIDE EVENT BROUGHT TOGETHER 176 SCHOOLS AND MORE THAN 1400 STUDENTS TO COMPETE ACROSS MULTIPLE DEBATE AND SPEECH CATEGORIES.

CONGRATULATIONS TO EACH STUDENT COACH SPONSOR FROM ALL THREE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS FOR THEIR HARD WORK, DEDICATION AND CONTINUED COMMITMENT AND EXCELLENCE IN SPEECH AND DEBATE.

ALL RIGHT. PLANO ISD IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT FIVE PRINCIPALS WERE RECENTLY SELECTED TO THE LATEST COHORT OF THE HOLDSWORTH CENTER'S CAMPUS LEADERSHIP PROGRAM IN AUSTIN.

THIS TWO YEAR ENDEAVOR FOCUSES ON SUPPORTING AND DEVELOPING SCHOOL LEADERS TO DRIVE POSITIVE CHANGE FOR TEXAS STUDENTS PRE-K THROUGH 12.

THIS ELITE GROUP INCLUDED MORE THAN 100 APPLICANTS REPRESENTING 40 SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN TEXAS.

MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING PRINCIPALS.

WE'VE GOT THEIR PICTURES UP THERE. SARAH STEWART FROM CENTENNIAL ELEMENTARY, JEFFREY WALLER FROM HARRINGTON ELEMENTARY, MICHELLE HERRERA FROM HICKEY ELEMENTARY, TY CARL STINSON ELEMENTARY, AND JOHN TEDFORD MCMILLAN HIGH SCHOOL.

FINALLY, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PLANO WEST SENIOR HIGH BOYS SOCCER TEAM FOR HAVING AN INCREDIBLE SEASON.

THEIR AMAZING RUN FOR STATE CAME TO AN END IN THE STATE SEMIFINALS LAST FRIDAY, THEIR SECOND CONSECUTIVE YEAR TO REACH THE FINAL FOUR.

WE ARE SO PROUD OF THEIR HEART, TEAMWORK AND UNSHAKABLE SPIRIT IS SO PROUD OF THE HEART, TEAMWORK AND UNSHAKABLE SPIRIT SHOWN BY THESE STUDENT ATHLETES AND THEIR COACHES. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE WOLF PACK ON SUCH A REMARKABLE SEASON.

THESE SCHOOLS HAVE MEMBERSHIP THAT EQUALS AT LEAST 100% OF ITS CAMPUS STUDENT ENROLLMENT.

THIS AWARD HONORS INNOVATIVE INDIVIDUALS AND SCHOOL DISTRICTS WITHIN THE SKYWARD USER COMMUNITY WHO DEMONSTRATE OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE AND DEDICATION.

IT RECOGNIZES AND CELEBRATES THE INNOVATORS, CHANGE MAKERS, PROBLEM SOLVERS, PIONEERS, AND FORWARD THINKERS WHO USE SKYWARD SYSTEMS TO IMPROVE OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY, STREAMLINE WORKFLOWS, AND ENHANCE STUDENT AND STAFF EXPERIENCES.

PLANO ISD WAS ONE OF ONLY TWO DISTRICTS IN THE NATION RECOGNIZED IN THE SKYWARD CUMULATIVE CATEGORY.

THIS RECOGNITION REFLECTS THE DISTRICT'S SUCCESSFUL MIGRATION TO THE SKYWARD PLATFORM AND EXTRAORDINARY MULTI-YEAR INITIATIVE THAT TRANSFORMED HOW WE MANAGE STUDENT AND BUSINESS INFORMATION SYSTEMS OVER A TWO YEAR PERIOD, THE TECHNOLOGY TEAM LED 24 DATA MIGRATIONS, SUPPORTED TENS OF THOUSANDS OF SERVICE INTERACTIONS, AND DELIVERED EXTENSIVE TRAINING AND SUPPORT TO MORE THAN 8000 EMPLOYEES, SERVING OVER 45,000 STUDENTS.

AND WHILE THAT CERTAINLY SIGNIFIES WHAT YOU WOULD CALL A SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS SOFTWARE, THAT'S NOT THE ESSENCE OF WHAT THIS AWARD IS REALLY ABOUT.

YOU SEE, IT'S DURING THIS TIME THAT PLANO ISD SERVED AS A TRUE PARTNER IN INNOVATION COLLABORATING WITH SKYWARD AS WELL AS OUR INTERNAL CUSTOMERS ON MORE THAN 300 SYSTEM ENHANCEMENTS THAT BENEFIT NOT ONLY OUR DISTRICT, BUT LARGE DISTRICTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

WHAT THAT MEANS IS WE VERY WELL COULD HAVE IMPLEMENTED SKYWARD OUT OF THE BOX, SO TO SPEAK THE WAY THAT THEY WANTED TO DO IT.

BUT WE KNEW THAT THAT WOULD NOT BE IN THE BEST INTEREST OF PLANO.

ISD. AND SO OUR STAFF, OUR ENGINEERS, OUR PROGRAMMERS, OUR ANALYSTS, SPECIALISTS.

THEY PUSHED BACK ON THE CONVENTIONAL WISDOM OF SKYWARD AND REALLY PUSHED THEM TO BE MORE INNOVATIVE, TO THINK ABOUT HOW WE DO BUSINESS AND REALLY CHANGE THEIR PROCESSES SO THAT WE WOULD END UP WITH A BETTER TOOL.

A FEW EXAMPLES OF THE INNOVATION OUR TEAM INFLUENCED INCLUDES SCHEDULE HOLES AND FAMILY ACCESS.

AGE VERIFICATION ON NEW STUDENT ONLINE ENROLLMENT CONDITIONAL FORMATTING WITHIN THE ONLINE FORUMS NEW PHONE EXTENSIONS IN THE ROOM TO, TO SERVE AS A STUDENT LOCATOR SO THAT THE OFFICE CAN EASILY SEE WHERE STUDENTS WERE THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL DAY ALLOWING NURSES TO SEE MEDICATION COUNTDOWN AND TO EASILY COMMUNICATE WITH PARENTS BANK NAMES ON ACH FOR SECOND LEVEL VERIFICATION DEPLOYING AND SHARING DASHBOARD TILES FROM THE DISTRICT LEVEL AND THEN AUTOMATING INTEGRATION BETWEEN EMPLOYEE ERP AND STAFF RECORDS, WHICH WERE DEVELOPED BY PLANO, IS BEING UTILIZED AS PART OF THIS FRAMEWORK FOR MAJOR PRODUCT ENHANCEMENT.

SO IN ESSENCE, WE HAVE COLLABORATED WITH THEM ON MORE THAN 300 ENHANCEMENTS OR AT LEAST PRODUCT IDEAS THAT NOT ONLY SERVE OUR COMMUNITY TODAY, BUT ARE ALSO SERVING LARGE DISTRICTS ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

THIS AWARD IS A TESTAMENT TO THE VISION, DEDICATION, AND EXPERTISE OF THE PLANO ISD TECHNOLOGY SERVICES DEPARTMENT.

THEIR WORK EXEMPLIFIES OUR DISTRICT'S COMMITMENT TO OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE, DATA SECURITY, AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IN SERVING OUR STUDENTS, STAFF, AND COMMUNITY.

THIS PROGRAM CELEBRATES EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION COMMUNICATION ACROSS THE ENTIRE STATE.

THESE AWARDS ARE JUDGED BY INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONALS WHO EVALUATE EACH ENTRY AGAINST RIGOROUS STANDARDS, MAKING THIS RECOGNITION ESPECIALLY MEANINGFUL FOR OUR TEAM.

THIS TEAM EARNED A TOTAL OF SIX AWARDS, ALONG WITH THE PRESTIGIOUS BEST OF CATEGORY DISTINCTION, A TESTAMENT TO THEIR CREATIVITY, PROFESSIONALISM AND COMMITMENT TO TELLING THE STORY OF OUR OF OUR SCHOOLS WITH CLARITY AND IMPACT.

THAT PROCESS WAS THROUGH THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION, AND THIS REPLACED THE PREVIOUS PROCLAMATION AND TEXAS RESOURCE REVIEW PROCESSES AND REPRESENTS A MEANINGFUL SHIFT IN HOW WE HOW WE LOOK AT AND EVALUATE OUR MATERIALS AND HOW THEY'RE APPROVED AT ITS CORE.

IMRE IS DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN ALIGNMENT TO THE TEAKS OUR TEXAS ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS, THE STANDARDS BY WHICH WE TEACH INCREASED TRANSPARENCY IN THE REVIEW PROCESS, PROVIDE LIAISE WITH CLEAR GUIDANCE ON HIGH QUALITY, VETTED RESOURCES. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT CREATES A NEW MINDSET FOR MATHEMATICAL EDUCATION.

I WANT TO JUST HIGHLIGHT AND TRY TO GIVE YOU A CLIFF NOTES VERSION OF THIS IMPORTANT SHIFT IN HOW INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS ARE REVIEWED, APPROVED AND FUNDED AT THE STATE LEVEL. PREVIOUSLY, UNDER THE PROCLAMATION IN TEXAS, RESOURCE REVIEW, MATERIALS WERE ADOPTED ON A ROTATING CYCLE. OFTEN THAT WOULD HAPPEN ABOUT EVERY EIGHT YEARS AND LIAISE PRIMARILY REFERENCE WHAT WAS CALLED THE COMMISSIONERS LIST.

WHEN MAKING THOSE SELECTIONS. WHILE THERE, THERE WAS A LITTLE BIT OF FLEXIBILITY IN THE PURCHASE OF THOSE TEAKS ALIGNED MATERIALS USING E.MMA OR INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS ALLOTMENT FUNDS.

KIM LIST OF TIER ONE RESOURCES THAT DISTRICTS CAN CONFIDENTLY SELECT FROM.

ONE OF THE KEY ADVANTAGES OF THE H. KIM LIST ARE.

THEY ARE ELIGIBLE FOR ADDITIONAL FUNDING ENTITLEMENTS BEYOND THE STANDARD IMA ALLOCATION.

SO WE HAD INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL REVIEW TEAMS THAT INCLUDED OUR ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY MATH COORDINATORS WHO WERE HERE TONIGHT, CLASSROOM TEACHERS FROM VARIOUS GRADE LEVELS.

CAMPUS INSTRUCTIONAL COACHES, DISTRICT DEPARTMENTS, INCLUDING MULTILINGUAL ACADEMIC SERVICES, DIGITAL LEARNING, AND SPECIAL EDUCATION. WE WANTED A DIVERSE REPRESENTATION FROM THE DISTRICT.

WE ENSURED THAT ALL THREE OF OUR CLUSTERS WERE REPRESENTED, REPRESENTED, AND WE ALSO HAD TEACHERS FROM TITLE AND NON-TITLE CAMPUSES, AND WE ALSO HAD NEW AND VETERAN TEACHERS. WE WANTED A DIVERSE MIXTURE OF PEOPLE HELPING US, AND WE ALSO GATHERED AND INCORPORATED COMMUNITY INPUT INTO THE SELECTION PROCESS.

SO WE CONNECTED IT TO THE EMWRIGHT INDICATORS WHICH ARE LISTED DOWN THE LEFT.

AND WE STARTED WITH THE SAMPLE EMMAHR RUBRIC THAT YOU SEE HERE.

BUT THIS IS ACTUALLY WE TOOK THE RUBRIC AND WE ADDED TO IT BECAUSE WE WANTED A VERY THOROUGH PROCESS FOR IDENTIFYING THE RESOURCES THAT OUR TEACHERS AND OUR STUDENTS WOULD BE USING. SO OUR TEAMS WENT THROUGH A RIGOROUS PROCESS.

WE USED THIS RUBRIC WHICH FOCUSES ON THE EMWRIGHT INDICATORS HERE, EACH EMRA INDICATOR HAS MULTIPLE DESCRIPTORS, SO EACH EACH TEAM MEMBER WENT THROUGH EACH OF THE RESOURCES WE WERE EVALUATING, AND THEY SCORED EACH DESCRIPTOR.

AND ALONG WITH EVERY SCORE, THEY HAD TO PROVIDE AT LEAST TWO PIECES OF EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT WHY THEY CHOSE THAT SCORE FOR THAT DESCRIPTOR.

AND THEN THE TEAM CAME TOGETHER. THEY SHARED WHAT THEY SCORED, EACH DESCRIPTOR FOR EACH RESOURCE AND WHY.

AND THE TEAM WORKED TO COME TOGETHER ON A CONSENSUS OF THE SCORES FOR EACH RESOURCE.

AND WE WANTED IT TO BE BASED ON EVIDENCE, WHICH IS WHY WE ROOTED IT IN THE EMRA INDICATORS.

TO SUPPORT THE TEAMS IN DOING THIS. WE PROVIDED TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL LEARNING FOR THEM.

WE HAD A TEAM THROUGH OUR LASSO CYCLE THREE GRANT.

WE HAD A TEAM OF TEACHERS AND COACHES AND PRINCIPALS AND DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVES WHO ATTENDED THE RESEARCH BASED INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES TRAINING THAT WE WERE VERY INTENTIONAL IN MAKING SURE THAT EVERYONE WHO WAS GOING TO BE ON THE MATERIAL SELECTION PROCESS COMMITTEE ALSO ATTENDED THIS TRAINING, BECAUSE WE WANTED THEM TO HAVE THAT UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT ARE THE RESEARCH BASED INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGIES IN MATH BEFORE THEY EVEN BEGAN LOOKING AT MATERIALS. WE WANTED IT ALL GROUNDED IN RESEARCH AND EVIDENCE.

THEN ON TOP OF THAT, OUR MATH COORDINATORS ALSO PROVIDED SPECIFIC TRAINING ON THOSE EMWRIGHT INDICATORS THAT WERE ON THE LAST SLIDE, BECAUSE THEY REALLY WANTED EVERYONE ON THE TEAM TO HAVE A STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT THEY WERE LOOKING FOR.

THEY WENT OVER WHAT EACH INDICATOR MEANS. THEY WENT OVER THE CLARITY ON THE LANGUAGE EXAMPLES AND NON EXAMPLES OF WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IN A MATH RESOURCE. AND SO WHENEVER THEY WERE BEGINNING TO LOOK AT THE RESOURCES, THEY HAD THIS TRAINING THAT THEY HAD RECEIVED.

AND THEN WITH EACH RESOURCE, THEY USED THE RESOURCES IN THEIR CLASSROOMS, PROVIDED FEEDBACK ON THAT.

THE PUBLISHERS FOR EACH RESOURCE CAME, DEMONSTRATED THEIR PRODUCT, ANSWERED ANY QUESTIONS THAT THE COMMITTEE HAD, AND THEN THEY MET TOGETHER TO COME TO THAT CONSENSUS.

SO I MENTIONED THE LASSO CYCLE THREE GRANT THAT ALLOWED US TO GET A LOT OF PEOPLE TRAINED IN THE ARBY'S.

IT ALSO SUPPORTED OUR DEVELOPMENT OF A MATH INSTRUCTIONAL FRAMEWORK THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY FINALIZING THAT BASICALLY JUST STATES,

WHAT DO WE BELIEVE MATH INSTRUCTION LOOKS LIKE FOR OUR STUDENTS AND OUR DISTRICT? AND WE MADE SURE THAT THAT WORK CONNECTED TO THE WORK OF REVIEWING OUR MATERIALS AND CHOOSING OUR NEXT MATH CURRICULUM RESOURCE. AND THAT ALSO HAS. WILL HAVE PRINCIPAL AND TEACHER PROFESSIONAL LEARNING AS WELL.

STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THIS PROCESS TO RIDE THE BUS INDEPENDENT OF THE BADGE.

BUT OUR GOAL IS FOR THEM TO GET IN THE HABIT AND SEE HOW DOES THAT WORK? HOW WILL THEY BADGE ON AND BADGE OFF? BUT DOES IT MEAN THEY'RE GOING TO GET DENIED A RIDE? THEY WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF. WE'LL MAKE SURE THEY GET HOME SAFE AND TO THE CAMPUSES SAFELY.

MOST OF OUR ROUTES ARE AROUND WHAT THE AVERAGE IS IN THE US, AND THE SYSTEM INCLUDES MULTI COOLING SYSTEMS AND AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN PROTECTIONS.
