WE WILL NOW MOVE ON TO ITEM THREE ON THE AGENDA, WHICH IS THE RECOGNITION PORTION OF OUR MEETING.

WE'RE SO EXTREMELY PROUD TO RECOGNIZE SEVERAL OF OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF MEMBERS EXCELLING AT THE STATE, NATIONAL OR INTERNATIONAL LEVELS, EACH RECOGNITION IS GOING TO BE DISPLAYED ON THE MONITORS.

FIRST, MAJOR CONGRATULATIONS TO PLANO ES LADY PANTHERS GUARD, ARIANA ROBINSON FOR REACHING THE 1000, CAREER POINT MILESTONE THIS MONTH, AS TREMENDOUS AS THIS ACHIEVEMENT IS, WHAT IS EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE IS THAT SHE IS ONLY A SOPHOMORE.

[BACKGROUND] I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I READ THIS.

THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT FOR THIS RISING STAR.

WAY TO GO ARIANA.

[APPLAUSE] SECOND, KUDOS TO THE PLANO WEST SENIOR HIGH CHEERS SQUAD FOR THEIR AWARD WINNING PERFORMANCE AT THE UNIVERSAL CHEERLEADERS ASSOCIATION UCA REGIONAL COMPETITION.

THE PERFORMANCE TEAM TOOK HOME THE FIRST PLACE TROPHY WHILE THE GAME DAY SQUAD SECURED A BID TO NATIONALS AS AS WELL WITH A STANDOUT ROUTINE THAT EARNED TOP SCORES.

BOTH TEAMS ARE HEADED TO THE UCA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA IN FEBRUARY.

WAY TO GO WOLF PACK.

[APPLAUSE] FINALLY, CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 107 PLANOISD EDUCATORS WHO WERE HONORED LAST MONTH DURING THE PLANOISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION, GRANTS TO EDUCATORS GRANT PATROL.

THIS YEAR'S RECIPIENTS WERE AWARDED MORE THAN $160,000, WHICH WILL GO DIRECTLY TOWARDS PROGRAMS AND RESOURCES TO FURTHER, CREATE ENGAGING LEARNING EXPERIENCES.

WE ARE SO PROUD TO INTRODUCE A VERY SPECIAL GROUP OF STUDENTS THIS EVENING.

AS SUPERINTENDENT, I SEEK INPUT FOR MANY ACROSS THE DISTRICT AND THE GROUP THIS EVENING IS OUR STUDENT GROUP THAT WE ARE ABLE TO TAP INTO EACH MONTH.

THIS IS A GROUP OF STUDENTS THAT REPRESENT ALL THREE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS AND ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL.

THEY ARE RECOMMENDED TO SERVE ON THIS COMMITTEE FOR TWO YEARS, AND THEY PARTICIPATE IN OUR SUPERINTENDENT STUDENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE.

AND THIS ELITE COMMITTEE CONSIST OF JUNIORS AND SENIORS THAT MEET MONTHLY WITH ME AND MY LEADERSHIP TEAM, AND WE ARE ABLE TO TAP INTO THESE STUDENTS.

THEY PROVIDE GREAT MEANINGFUL INPUT. THEY GIVE US FEEDBACK.

THEY EVEN GOT TO GIVE FEEDBACK ON SOME NEW FURNITURE THAT WE'RE PURCHASING FOR SOME OF OUR CAMPUSES.

THEN WE ALSO ALLOW OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEM TO SHARE WHAT'S HAPPENING AT THEIR CAMPUSES, AND WE'VE MADE A LOT OF CHANGES ACTUALLY TO SOME OF OUR PROCESSES BASED ON THE FEEDBACK THAT'S PROVIDED BY THESE STUDENTS YEAR AFTER YEAR.

WE LIVE MEETING WITH THEM.

THEY ARE WAY WISER THAN WHAT WE GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR SOMETIMES, BUT REALLY THEY ARE THE VOICE OF STUDENTS IN PLAIN OISD, AND I'M SO PROUD TO GET TO KNOW THEM AND WORK WITH THEM OVER THE TWO YEAR PERIOD, AND ESPECIALLY PROUD TO GET TO INTRODUCE THESE STUDENTS TO YOU TONIGHT.

I KNOW THAT THEY'RE NOT ALL HERE, SO I WILL ONLY BE CALLING OUR STUDENTS THAT ARE PRESENT.

WE HAVE 14 STUDENTS, SEVEN ARE PRESENT WITH US TONIGHT, STUDENTS.

WHEN I CALL YOUR NAME AND ACTUALLY BEFORE THAT, I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW HOW MUCH WE VALUE AND APPRECIATE YOUR VOICE, YOUR INPUT.

THE TEXAS ART EDUCATION ASSOCIATION, WHICH WE ALSO KNOWN AS TAEA, WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1919 TO PROMOTE VISUAL ARTS EDUCATION, ADVOCATE FOR TEACHERS, AND PROVIDE STUDENT PROGRAMS. OVER THE YEARS, A MULTITUDE OF THESE PROGRAMS, I CAN'T GO INTO THEM ALL, BUT A MULTITUDE, SUCH AS VISUAL ART SCHOLASTIC EVENT, WHICH WE CALL VASE, BIG ART DAY, DISTRICT OF DISTINCTION, IT'S ANNUAL STATE CONFERENCE.

ALL THESE THINGS ARE THE HALLMARK OF ACHIEVEMENT IN THE ARTS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS.

EACH YEAR, THE TAEA BOARD ACCEPTS NOMINATIONS FOR THE MEMBERSHIP TO RECOGNIZE EXCELLENCE IN THE MANY OUTSTANDING MEMBERS OF THE TAEA ORGANIZATION.

AFTER AN EXTENSIVE REVIEW PROCESS, WINNERS ARE ANNOUNCED AND CELEBRATED AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE.

THERE ARE SEVERAL DIVISIONS FOR THE AWARDS THAT ALL CULMINATE AT THE ZENITH OF RECOGNITION AND ESTATE, WHICH IS THE TEXAS ART EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR.

THIS IS AWARDED TO ONE TAEA MEMBER WHO HAS SIGNIFICANTLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE ASSOCIATION AND ART EDUCATION AT THE LOCAL STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE PART.

THIS IS FROM TAEA.

INDIVIDUALS WILL BE HONORED FOR EACH OF THESE AWARDS ONLY ONCE.

THAT INDIVIDUAL FOR 2025 IS IN THIS BOARD ROOM WITH US TODAY.

HOWEVER, BEFORE I ANNOUNCE THIS PERSON, I LIKE TO GO THROUGH THE FORMALITIES FOR A LOT OF THINGS, BUT IF YOU GUYS KNOW ME, I ALSO LIKE TO SPEAK FROM THE HEART AND COME FROM HERE.

BUT SOMETIMES I THINK IT MEANS MORE TO HEAR WHAT'S BEHIND IT, WHAT DROVE ALL THOSE THINGS.

FROM MY HEART WHEN I THINK OF THIS PERSON, I THINK OF THE WORDS LOVE, NUMBER 1, CARE, COMPASSION, DEDICATION.

THAT'S WHAT DRIVES THIS PERSON.

THAT'S WHAT DRIVES ALL OF THE THINGS THAT THIS PERSON IS A MEMBER OF.

THEY'RE SO FANTASTIC.

OUR LIBRARIANS TAUGHT MORE THAN 32,000 LESSONS, SUPPORTING INSTRUCTION ACROSS ALL CONTENT AREAS, AND WE DOCUMENTED OVER 8,700 INSTRUCTIONAL COLLABORATIONS WHERE LIBRARIANS WORK SIDE BY SIDE WITH TEACHERS TO DESIGN, PLAN, OR CO TEACH MEANINGFUL LEARNING EXPERIENCES.

I'VE PULLED UP SOME SCHOOL DISTRICT DATA POINTS IN THE HOUSTON AREA AFTER I WENT TO TASBO, AND I RECOGNIZED DATA POINTS, WHICH AT THAT POINT, I WENT BACK AND SAW HOW THEY LABELED AND WENT BACK AND HAD TO RELABEL EVERYTHING TO TRY TO MAKE MORE SENSE TO GET MORE ACCURATE, LIKE WHAT MICHAEL WAS SAYING, HVAC, ALL THESE ITEMS ARE TIED TO THE CHILLER UNITS OR CHILLER SYSTEM.

HOW DO YOU TIE THEM ALL? IT ALSO GIVES THE DESTRUCTION A SCOPE OF WORK TO WORK OFF OF?

I THINK WE NEED TO BE SMART AND STRATEGIC ABOUT IT, AND SOME OF THIS INFORMATION WE ARE GOING TO NEED TO GET THAT CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT, THAT CITIZEN TRANSPARENCY POTENTIALLY IN A COMMITTEE FORMAT AS WE DO NEXT LRFP, NEXT BOND PLANNING, AND THAT THING.

THIS IS SOMETHING THAT IN AGENDA PLANNING.
