SO FIRST TONIGHT, WE HAVE DR.

SELENDA ANDERSON, WHO IS OUR NEW ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR STUDENT ENGAGEMENT AND DISTRICT SERVICES.

DR. ANDERSON IS COMING TO US FROM THE SCHOOL LEADERSHIP AND INNOVATION DEPARTMENT, WHERE SHE SERVED AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR ABOUT A THIRD OF OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.

SHE HAD 15 CAMPUSES.

IN HER NEW ROLE SHE WILL OVERSEE FINE ARTS, ATHLETICS, PE, SAFETY AND SECURITY, FOOD AND FOOD SERVICES AND TRANSPORTATION.

20 OF SELENDA'S 26 YEARS HAVE BEEN HERE IN PLANO ISD, WHERE SHE HAS SERVED AS A CAMPUS ADMINISTRATOR SINCE 2002 AND MOST RECENTLY, MOST RECENTLY IS THE PRINCIPAL AT WILSON MIDDLE SCHOOL AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR ASSESSMENT, RESEARCH AND PROGRAM EVALUATION.

SELENDA INTO HOLDS A DOCTORATE OF EDUCATION FROM DALLAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY, A MASTER'S IN EDUCATION FROM TEXAS A&M COMMERCE AND A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE FROM RADFORD UNIVERSITY IN VIRGINIA. SO JOIN ME IN CONGRATULATING DR.

SHE IS AN EXPERIENCED CAMPUS LEADER, PREVIOUSLY LEADING BOTH MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL CAMPUSES IN PLANO ISD AND AT WILSON MIDDLE SCHOOL, HAGGARD MIDDLE SCHOOL AND VINES HIGH SCHOOL, IN ADDITION TO EARNING A MASTER'S DEGREE IN EDUCATION [INAUDIBLE] HOLDS A SUPERINTENDENT CERTIFICATION AND HAS WORKED IN EDUCATION FOR 28 YEARS.

WHILE HER JOURNEY HAS INCLUDED SEVERAL OTHER NORTH TEXAS SCHOOL DISTRICTS, SHE WHERE SHE HAS SUCCESSFULLY LED SEVERAL OTHER CAMPUSES, SHE RETURNED HOME TO PLANO ISD IN TWENTY NINETEEN AS THE PRINCIPAL OF MITCHELL ELEMENTARY.

HER LEADERSHIP ROLE EXTENDS OUTSIDE OF PLANO ISD AS SHE IS CURRENTLY SERVING AS VICE REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT OF THE TEXAS ELEMENTARY PRINCIPALS AND SUPERVISORS ASSOCIATION.

LARIZA HAS EARNED HER BACHELOR DEGREE FROM INTERDISCIPLINARY STUDIES FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON AND A MASTER'S DEGREE IN EDUCATION AND ADMINISTRATION AND LEADERSHIP FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS.

SHE'S JOINED TONIGHT BY HER DAUGHTER EMMY AND HER PARENTS, FRANK AND MARY LOU VASQUEZ.
